Gators vs. Volunteers – Match Preview – NCAA Football
The 10th-ranked Florida Gators and the Tennessee Volunteers in a battle of SEC conference rivals at Neyland Stadium (3:30 pm ET, CBS), clash on Saturday.
While the over/under total has not yet been posted, College football odds have the Gators as a 14-point favorite.
Over the past 10 head-to-head matchups, the Gators have had the Vols’ number, at least straight, going 7-3 SU. Although Tennessee is 1-3-1 ATS in the past five meetings at home, but Florida has had some difficult covering the point spread at 5-4-1 ATS in those games.
On Sept. 19, the teams last squared off last season, came nowhere near cashing as a 30-point home favorite, although the Gators won 23-13. Under the total of 53, went the score.
On Saturday, Florida beat state rival South Florida 38-14, covering as a 14.5-point favorite, and the 52 points going over the total.
In their last action, against the Oregon Ducks, Tennessee was a 48-13 loser at home. While the combined score (61) was profitable news for OVER bettors, as underdogs, the Volunteers failed to cover the 10.5-point spread.
Tennessee is 1-1 SU and 0-1 ATS and Florida (2-0 SU, 1-1 ATS) has won two straight games.
In the last five meetings, Florida is 5-0 SU, and the total has gone under in four of the past five meetings.
